The above photo showcases a completed project by a Senior Security Systems Technician—a man who, around 9 years ago, was delivering cars.
Through his work effic, I saw potential in him, and I offered him an opportunity to join the business that I owned at the time, as a trainee.
From the start, I emphasised one key message: *“Learning is a process. Aquring skills takes time. Be patient, stay open to learning, and experience and an increase of income will follow.”*
He embraced this advice.
Through dedication, discipline, and a hunger for knowledge, he learned from those around him, pursued manufacturer training courses, and remained patient through the ups and downs.
His commitment to learning has given him a rewarding work-life balance—something that benefits both him and his family. He, without doubt, eventually rise through the ranks of management and beyond.
Today, his career is thriving. Not only has he secured a fantastic position within the Security Systems industry, but he’s also seen personal and financial growth.
He is now passing on his knowlegde and skill set to apprentices who he is managing. If they take on board what he is showing them, they to will progress, if that want to that is!
This story is a reminder: continuous learning is essential. Whether it’s discovering what NOT to do or finding ways to improve, growth is constant.
When employees at every level—from trainees to managers and directors—embrace a mindset of learning and growth, the results are transformative.
This, in my opinion, leads to stronger businesses, happier clients, and more fulfilled employees.
